Promoting European Documentation Centers in Academic Institutions: best practices of EDCs fostering Academic cooperation

Abstract

The European Documentation Centers EDCs are considered to be the voice of the official Documents in the European Union. Each EDC has its own priorities depending on its structure, but they all serve the information needs of the European Community. The particularity of these documents is their editorship which comes directly from official European Institutions representing the official information of various European subjects. As most EDCs in European Union are hosted by Academic Institutions, it is important to indicate and promote the role of EDCs in Educational Institutions and particularly to point out some important practices which aim to emerge the usefulness of EDCs in various educational processes. This project aims to present effective ways of promoting EDCs in Academic Institutions by emphasizing the methodology of providing European Information in various Academic Institutions through the EDCs’ services.
