dc.description.abstract	The current status of the academic libraries in Greece is examined. A brief summary of each academic institution and its library is given. Collection development, staff, and the bibliographic organization of the materials are described. The bibliographic standards that libraries apply, automation and retrospective conversion are presented. General assessments, short presentation of automation systems and areas for development are also provided.	en
