Ο αρχικός βυζαντινός ναός είναι στο ανατολικό τμήμα του νότιου κλίτους και ανήκει στον αρχιτεκτονικό τύπο ναού με τρούλο μονόκλιτο. Κοσμείται με τοιχογραφίες των αρχών του 12ου αιώνα. The church of the Virgin Mary in Trikomo is two-aisled and has had new additions at time. The original Byzantine church is in the eastern part of the south aisle and its architectural type is that of a one-aisled domed church.
