dc.description.abstract | Wikis represent the next natural and logical development in the ‘history of writing’. They were first introduced
over 10 years ago as a fully editable writing tool to facilitate collaboration through the use of networked computer
systems. Since their introduction by Ward Cunningham in 1994, wikis have been used for a variety of teaching
and learning applications. This paper outlines and illustrates some of the attractive features of the wiki genre of
software as tools for the creation and management of electronic knowledge within the context of the teaching and
learning activities that take place within a higher-education environment. | en |
