| dc.description.abstract | With the use of US Institute for Scientific Informatiom (ISI) bibliographic data bases covering all subject fields in the 1970s, 659 research journal papers on Cyprus were analysed in order to answer specific bibliometric questions and reveal the extent of the coverage of Cyprus by these services. The questions sought to establish: the type of material studied; language of publication; subject of papers; authors of papers; nationalities of authors; author nationality by high frequency subject; institutions represented by the authors; countries represented by the institutions; most popular paper sources; county of publication of high frequency journals; journals available in Cyprus libraries; length of papers and numbers of references; which books were reviewed; and availability in Cyprus libraries and bookstores. | en |
