We gaan gewoon beginnen! het bibliotheekwerk van de griekse gemeenschap in Utrecht
Abstract
In the Netherlands the Anagennisi Foundation maintains a social-cultural centre for the use of the 1,100 Greek immigrants resident in Utrecht. In 1979 the centre formed a library for the use of its members. Initially the library was limited in size but increased considerably in 1982 when the local public library provided funds for the acquisition of books. The collection currently contains 900 volumes, including many children's books. A committee composed of representatives from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, is responsible for book selection and the library is open each Saturday from 1 to 4pm. In addition a library of Greek children's books has been opened in Utrecht in a school for immigrant children.
