Strengthening modern Greek collections

Abstract

Reports a conference on the strengthening of modern Greek collections cosponsored by the Library of Congress (LC) and the Council on Library and Information Resources which covered the state of modern Greek collections in the USA and libraries and archives in Greece. Discusses the Greek and the US perspectives, their collections and libraries, needs and priorities, and their national collaboration efforts. Sets out the proposals made for improvements in acquisitions, archives, cataloguing, bringing together LC and Hios Library holdings, interlibrary loan, periodicals and Greek-US holdings with emphasis on the question of Greek-US partnerships.
