Creating a Greek approval plan at Yale
Abstract
Describes the author's experience of developing a collection development policy and attempting to set up an approval plan for modern Greek imprint materials at Yale University, Connecticut. Outlines the problems of dealing with Greek vendors, which include their general failure to respond to inquiries and their limited in-stock offerings. The case of Yale is typical of American libraries' universal difficulties with Greek libraries and the Greek book trade. Presents an approval plan profile for modern Greek imprints that suits the needs of Yale's educational programmes.
