Preservation and conservation education in Greece

Abstract

Describes the education available for those responsible for extending the useful life of library and archival material in Greece. This includes fringe modules in the 2 Greek library schools in Athens and Thessaloniki, municipal and public library seminars on the preservation of library and archival materials; and conservation education courses offered by the following institutions - the Department of Archaeological and Fine Arts Conservation; the Hellenic Organisation of Small and Medium Sized Industries and Handicrafts; the National Bank Educational Foundation; a conservation workshop on Andros; a conservation school on Patmos, and Petras, a private school of conservation in Athens.
