Library and information research policy in Greece

Abstract

Contribution to a seminar organized by the British Library Research and Development Department for European bodies which fund library and information research. Describes library information research involvement at the National Library of Greece, the National Hellenic Documentation Centre, academic libraries, advanced research and educational institutions in computer science and informatics, and the private sector. Discusses research areas. Greece is active in the European Union's Libraries Programme, lists programmes in which Greek libraries have been involved. Draws conclusions about the future of library and information research in Greece.
