Libraries Without Walls 2: The Delivery of Library Services to Distant Users. The Second Conference: 17-20 September 1997, Hotel Delfinia, Molyvos, Lesvos, Greece

Abstract

The first Libraries Without Walls Conference was held at Molyvos, Greece in September 1995, to address the need to disseminate results of the European Commission project BIBDEL, Libraries Without Walls: The Delivery of Library Services to Distant Users. Continued growth of interest in distance learning, lifelong learning, and remote access to information provided the impetus for the second conference, which is summarized. Brief synopses of presented papers focus on the themes they discussed: collaboration, commitment, practicality, lifelong learning, equity, human factors, negotiation, technology, professionalism, innovation, and vision.
