Abstract

The article provides an overview of different events and news from the library world. Mentioned themes include the awarding of the Access to Learning Award of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 2010 to the library of the Greek city of Veria; the 20 year anniversary of the Women, Information and Libraries Special Interest Group that was established during the World Library Congress in Stockholm; and the awarding of the title of an honorary fellow to the professor Claudia Lux who was chosen for her exceptional contribution to the work of the IFLA.
