Neuordnung(en) der Handschriften der Wiener Hofbibliothek im Barockzeitalter
Abstract
The article traces the history of cataloging books and the order in which they were displayed in the early years of the 17th century in the Wiener Hofbibliothek, the Viennese court library. Beginning with the years 1608-1636, when the library was organized into books and manuscripts according to subject area, by librarian Sebastian Tengnagel, the article covers the history to 1777, when the library was administrated by Adam František Kollár von Keresztén. Also discussed is a catalog of Greek manuscripts assembled by librarian Daniel Nessel in the late 17th century, which lasted into the 20th century.
