A Greek perspective on information literacy
Abstract
The article discusses information literacy (IL) in Greece. It highlights the failure of Greek librarians to recognize the importance of developing IL skills in their academic institutions and the lack of IL programs in most libraries in Greece based on a 2008 study by Stella Korobili, Aphrodite Malliari and George N Christodoulou. The article stresses the need for better links between faculties and librarians which could be achieved by the appointment of faculty representatives working with librarians who have similar academic backgrounds.
